Only one to go

Wednesday, September 10, 2008 1 comments
Last night was the second to last Run Far Time Trial of the season.

My times have been generally pretty consistent with only one or two big misses. Last night I decided a proper warm up to get my legs ready for the 8 mile course was needed. It is amazing what warming up properly can do for your performance.

A new PR of 20:23.15 and 23.5 MPH average, plus I left a couple seconds out on the course as I am still not 100% comfortable on the tri-bike.

The last time trial of the season is in 2 weeks and I will be looking to go under 20:20, and think that is doable with another 2 weeks of training.

Wish me luck.

Enjoy the ride.

Tim

Run Far Time Trial

Team Kong was out last night at the Run Far Time Trial. Not our best performance but still averaged over 23 MPH for the 8 mile course.

Still working to gain that mythical 24 MPH average. Luckily we get to try again in two weeks.

Enjoy the ride.

New Sponsorship: Big Pig Racing

Wednesday, August 6, 2008 0 comments
Big Pig Racing is a group of mountain bikers (mtb) that have been collectively riding and racing together for over 10+ years. Among our riders and racers are athletes that have completed triathlons (sprint, Olympic, ½ iron), adventure races (sprint, 12 and 24 hr), ultra-endurance running (marathons and 50 milers) and mtb events (6 hr, 12hr, 24hr, Leadville 100, Ouachita Challenge, etc. as well as dozens of XC sprint and marathon distance races). It is a pretty good depth, breadth, and general wealth of experience in outdoor adventure sports, with a specific focus on mtb riding and racing.

We are very excited to be one of their sponsors! Thanks, Ryan & Rich!

Greater Dallas Bicycle Club

Saturday, July 5, 2008 0 comments
I want to give a HUGE thank you to the Greater Dallas Bicycle Club!!! I joined their club ride this morning, and I had a blast! The group is so friendly and welcoming. Thanks guys! (Especially Mike, Barry, Brad & Ryan!)

At one point, Brad & I passed a cyclist with a flat tire while looping the airport. After he assured us he didn't need help, I tossed a Grease Monkey Wipe to him and yelled, "use this when you get greasy!" When we regrouped after 40 miles, he came up to me and said, "First off - your aim is perfect... this came right to me even though you were going 20+ mph. Second - this product rocks. It works perfectly!" Very cool. :)

Check the club out here: http://www.greaterdallasbicyclists.com/ If you are a cyclist in Dallas, you definitely should join them. I couldn't have asked for a better ride today.

Urban Assault Austin '08

Team Kong was out in force at Austin's Urban Assault race. Kerry & I had a blast racing around Austin, and we managed to win 2nd place in our division & 6th place overall!

Tim & Carri also had a great race and finished 10th in the very competitive co-ed division. The best part of the day was handing out samples to all the cyclists and helping everyone clean up their grease.
